Teen & Adolescent Counselling in the Sutherland Shire
Support for Emotional, Social, and Developmental Challenges
Teenage years can bring unique pressures β stress, anxiety, school demands, friendships, identity, or family changes.
At Mindnest Counselling, we provide a safe, understanding space where young people can express themselves, feel supported, and develop healthy coping strategies.
With experience working closely with adolescents, we use age-appropriate, evidence-based approaches to help teens manage emotions, build resilience, and strengthen relationships at home, school, and with peers. We work with adolescents and teenagers typically aged (12β18).
Areas Supported in Adolescent Counselling
Adolescent counselling can support young people through a wide range of emotional, social, and developmental challenges. Adolescence is a time of change, and many teenagers benefit from having a confidential, supportive space to talk things through.
Areas commonly supported include:
Anxiety, worry, and stress
Low mood or emotional overwhelm
ADHD-related challenges such as focus, emotional regulation, or school stress
Friendship or peer relationship difficulties
School-related pressures or transitions
Identity development and self-esteem
Family changes or conflict
Grief, loss, or significant life changes
Adolescents donβt need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. Many seek support to better understand their emotions, build coping skills, and feel more supported during times of change.
Counselling can help adolescents
Reduce stress and anxiety
Build resilience and confidence
Navigate school, friendships, or identity challenges
Strengthen family and social connections
While this service focuses on teenagers and adolescents, we also provide child counselling for younger children who need age-appropriate support.
Sessions offered in-person in Illawong and across the Sutherland Shire, or online throughout Australia.
